Career Day at St. Timothy Catholic School was such a special experience! Amanda Demanda had the honor of visiting both the 1st and 3rd grade classes to talk all about her journey to becoming a lawyer and what it really means to practice law. From the moment she walked in, the students were full of curiosity and excitement. Amanda shared stories about why she chose to become an attorney, the years of schooling and dedication it takes, and how her job allows her to help people in the community every single day. She also explained how the courtroom works—from the roles of judges and attorneys to witnesses and jury members—and brought those concepts to life with a fun and interactive mock trial.
During the mock trial, the students truly stepped up and brought the courtroom to life! Some became attorneys making their case, others played judges ruling from the bench, and a few acted as witnesses giving testimony. Even the jury, which was the rest of the class, had an important job—listening carefully and delivering a final verdict. Amanda was amazed at how confident, thoughtful, and engaged each student was throughout the entire activity. To make it even more exciting, she showed some of her TV commercials, which had the kids completely captivated. They asked fantastic questions—from how she prepares for court to what her favorite part of the job is.
It was a fun-filled day of learning, laughter, and inspiration. Amanda hopes that by sharing her story and giving students a hands-on look at the legal world, they walk away not only understanding what a lawyer does—but also seeing themselves as future leaders, problem-solvers, and maybe even attorneys one day. To end the visit on a high note, Amanda surprised the students with some special giveaways—including her signature pink sunglasses and notebooks—as a reminder to dream big and always be bold. Thank you to St. Timothy for the warm welcome and for making this Career Day so meaningful. Amanda can’t wait to be back soon!
