On May 28, 2025, Amanda Demanda Injury Lawyers had the privilege of attending the MDTLA 2025 Judicial Reception at the elegant Hotel Colonnade in Coral Gables. Hosted by the Miami-Dade Trial Lawyers Association (MDTLA), this annual event brought together judges, attorneys, and legal professionals from across the county to honor excellence on the bench and celebrate the strength of our legal community. As President-Elect and Board Member of MDTLA, Amanda Demanda proudly represented the firm alongside many other dedicated members of the association who came together to support the evening’s celebration.
Guests were warmly welcomed into a vibrant atmosphere, where check-in led to an evening of meaningful connections, heartfelt conversations, and shared appreciation for the legal profession. The event officially began with opening remarks by MDTLA President Bobby Núñez, who set the tone for the night with words of unity, gratitude, and purpose.
One of the highlights of the evening was when Amanda Demanda took the stage to present the prestigious Justice Harry Lee Anstead Award to Judge Lourdes Simon, recognizing her extraordinary service, leadership, and lasting impact on the Miami-Dade legal community. Judge Simon accepted the award with a moving speech that reflected her dedication to justice and gratitude for the support of her peers.
Following that moment, MDTLA Treasurer Matthew Mazzarella presented the Judge Steve Levine Award to Judge Charles Johnson, with MDTLA Secretary Michael J. Carmona joining on stage in support. Judge Johnson also delivered an inspiring message of service and judicial responsibility, which was met with warm applause and admiration.
The celebration continued into the evening as guests mingled, took photos, and enjoyed food, drinks, and rich conversation. The event beautifully captured the spirit of Miami-Dade’s legal community—one rooted in respect, collaboration, and a shared commitment to justice.
