The inaugural Dade Delegates Legislative Luncheon, hosted on June 11, 2026, at the Mayfair House Hotel & Garden in Miami, brought together elected officials and members of the South Florida legal community for an afternoon of meaningful conversation and collaboration. Hosted by Amanda Demanda in her role as 2026 President of the Miami-Dade Trial Lawyers Association (MDTLA), the event was created to strengthen relationships between Florida’s legislators and the attorneys who work with the laws they help shape every day.
The luncheon featured a networking reception, lunch, and a panel of distinguished speakers who shared updates and perspectives on the 2026 Legislative Session and the issues currently impacting Florida. Guests had the opportunity to engage directly with policymakers, ask questions, and gain valuable insight into the state’s evolving legislative priorities.
The program included remarks from MDTLA President Amanda Demanda, Senator Alexis Calatayud (District 38), Senator Ileana Garcia (District 36), Representative Michael Redondo (District 118), Representative David Borrero (District 111), Representative Alex Rizo (District 112), Representative Omar Blanco (District 115), and Representative Demi Busatta (District 114). Their discussions highlighted the importance of maintaining an open dialogue between public officials and the legal profession while encouraging continued collaboration on issues affecting Florida residents.
Under Amanda’s leadership, the luncheon was designed to create an environment where legislators, attorneys, judges, and legal leaders could connect beyond the courtroom and legislative chambers. By encouraging productive conversations and fostering professional relationships, the event reinforced MDTLA’s commitment to advocacy, civic engagement, and improving Florida’s legal system.
The success of the inaugural Dade Delegates Legislative Luncheon marked an important milestone for the Association and established what MDTLA hopes will become an annual tradition, bringing together policymakers and the legal community to continue meaningful conversations that help shape the future of Florida.
