On May 28, 2026, the Miami-Dade Trial Lawyers Association (MDTLA) hosted its annual Judicial Reception at the Hotel Colonnade Coral Gables, Autograph Collection. The event brought together judges, attorneys, colleagues, friends, and family members for an evening dedicated to recognizing leadership, service, and excellence within Miami-Dade’s legal community.
As President of MDTLA, Amanda Demanda was proud to help host this special event, which honors individuals whose dedication and contributions have strengthened the civil justice system and legal profession.
During the reception, three distinguished judges were recognized for their outstanding service and commitment to the bench. Congratulations to Judge Monica Gordo, recipient of the Justice Harry Lee Anstead Award; Judge Abby Cynamon, recipient of the Judge Steve Levine Award; and Judge Jason Dimitris, recipient of the Judge Manny Crespo Award. Each was honored for their professionalism, leadership, and lasting impact on Miami-Dade’s civil courts.
The evening also included a special recognition for Shannon Del Prado, founding partner of Pita Weber Del Prado, former MDTLA President, and community leader. She received an award in recognition of her dedication, hard work, and meaningful contributions to both the legal profession and the South Florida community.
One of the highlights of the evening was seeing the strong support from family members, friends, colleagues, and fellow legal professionals who gathered to celebrate the honorees and their achievements. Their presence reflected the respect and appreciation these individuals have earned throughout their careers.
The MDTLA Judicial Reception serves as an important opportunity to recognize those who help shape and strengthen our legal system while bringing together members of the legal community in celebration of their accomplishments.
Thank you to MDTLA, the honorees, attendees, and supporters who made this event such a memorable evening. We are grateful for the dedication of our judges and legal leaders and look forward to continuing this tradition in the years to come.
